MY CAKE MAKING HISTORY
From Cyclo-cross to Gluten Free
When, in 1994, I started catering for Cyclo-x cyclists it
was soon made clear to me that cake was a staple of the athletes world, especially the Chocolate Cake; Ginger Cake and Carrot Cake, maybe they would have eaten any cake at that
time.
For the first 3 or 4 years I managed to keep up with demand but as the events
got bigger and most week-ends became busy I had no option but to "buy in" cake and flapjack.
I sold the events business and finally completed my "term" at the end of 2007,
I have gone back to baking cakes.
These cakes are just as scrummy but are also suitable for Coeliacs as well
as wheat eaters, I must admit they do contain sugar but it is "Golden" caster sugar, so it's very nice (some cakes have
moscavado in them).
I would like to thank all of the wonderful
friends I have made in the world of CYCLO-X; MTB; 24HR & Marathon; BMX; 4X &TRIATHLON, from the local & charity
riders and organisers to the National & International Riders and Event Organisers. Also to the various officers
at British Cycling and British Triathlon who have been a great help, to me, over the years.
Even now they are helping me by "linking" this site with theirs.
